All Aboard.

Nature Cruise of the Century (2020) is a sunlit, surreal pop record by The PepTides — a concept album that drifts between romance, disorientation, nostalgia, and escape, blending soft rock, dream-pop, indie pop, and cinematic songwriting into a hazy, narrative journey. Built on melodic hooks, warm textures, and story-driven lyricism, the album feels like a voyage through memory, desire, and longing — part road trip, part fever dream, part postcard from a disappearing summer.

Rather than functioning as a conventional pop record, Nature Cruise of the Century unfolds like a floating narrative world — a collection of songs that move like scenes in a film, where places, lovers, and seasons blur together. The album carries a sense of motion throughout: between cities, between people, between emotional states — always in transit, never fully anchored.

Among the album's narrative threads are four songs written by Claude MarQuis: "We're Lost" — funky, explosive, and gloriously unhinged: a blockbuster disaster movie where the superheroes are on a lifeboat, the pyrotechnic bombs are exploding, and nobody really knows who's in the lead or where we're going; "Summer Fling" — sun-drenched, unapologetically sensual, and perfectly uncomplicated: abandon your bodies, everyone; "Nature Cruise" — with music by fellow bandmate Andrew Burns is the album's conceptual centre, a drifting meditation on the illusion of paradise, that lures you in with the promise of a nature cruise to wine and dine and celebrate before landing its final verdict: here's your last dance humanity; and "Summer Days" — bodies, cameras, and the heat of the moment, until the last line lands its quiet punch: how will I spend the rest of my life?

Together, these songs shape Nature Cruise of the Century into a record about movement without arrival — about chasing moments, places, and people that are always already slipping away. It’s an album of transience, sweetness, and quiet melancholy, where beauty and impermanence coexist — a cruise through a world that feels warm, strange, and just out of reach.
