This collection presents over thirty years of visual work by Claude MarQuis, spanning figurative painting series, abstract aerial landscapes, and his current queer art practice. From his early bar and gallery exhibitions in Ottawa and Hull in the 1990s through to his critically acclaimed Nature Boy solo show at Galerie Montcalm in 2003 and works acquired into the Ottawa Art Gallery's permanent collection, the paintings are organized here by series — each one a distinct body of work with its own theme, palette, and story.
